LOMPOC, Calif. - Lompoc Police and Fire responded to a possible hit and run death on College and "I" Street early Wednesday morning.

According to Police:

At approximately 6:11 AM, the Lompoc Police Department was dispatched to a "man down" call at the intersection of College Ave.

Santa Maria Police Look for Suspect in Early Morning Stabbing

stabbed a man on the 300 Block of South Thornburg early Tuesday morning.

According to Police:

On February 5, 2013 at about 0217 hours, Santa Maria Police Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of S Thornburg St in response to a stabbing.  Upon arrival, officers contacted a male subject, in his 30's, who suffered an apparent stab wound(s) to his upper torso.  The injury(s) were non life threatening and the victim refused medical attention.  

During the course of the investigation, it was learned that the victim was standing just outside a residence on Thornburg St when he was approached by the suspect who later attacked him.  During the attack, the victim sustained at least one stab wound to his upper torso.

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The NFL and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials are serious about cracking down on counterfeit items sold at Super Bowl 47 in "The Big Easy."

ICE sent out the following release regarding their efforts in New Orleans at the Super Bowl:

Speaking at a National Football League (NFL) news conference Thursday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director John Morton and NFL Vice President for Legal Affairs Anastasia Danias announced the record-breaking results of a nationwide enforcement operation. The initiative, dubbed 'Operation Red Zone,' commenced Sept. 1, 2012, and targeted international shipments of counterfeit merchandise as it entered the United States.

Woman Arrested for Bringing Gun to Court in Santa Maria

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department has confirmed that on Tuesday, January 29th. A woman brought a loaded gun to the Santa Maria Courthouse and was arrested.

According to the SBCSD, while attending a hearing unrelated to her in Santa Maria, Nicole Grandy-Smith was passing through a security screening station and a concealed loaded firearm was discovered inside her purse.

The gun was seized and Grandy-Smith was taken into custody for possession of a concealed firearm. She was arrested and booked into the Santa Barbara County jail for misdemeanor fire arms charges.

The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney's office. At this point it is unclear weather Grandy-Smith was aware the weapon was in her purse.

Lompoc Police Make Arrest in a Series of Break-ins and Burglaries in the City

LOMPOC, Calif. - Lompoc Police have arrested 18 year old Ivan Gutierrez and charged him with Burglary, possession of Meth and bringing a controlled substance into jail.  This arrest is in connection with 13 businesses that were either broken into or attempted to be broken into in Lompoc during January.

According to Police, in January thirteen (13) businesses were either broken into or attempts were made to break into the businesses, all between the 800 block of North H St, and the 1000 block of North H St.

The Lompoc Police Department developed information leading to the identification of the suspect in these break-ins or attempted break-ins. A search warrant was obtained for the suspect and for his residence in Lompoc.

Santa Maria Police Searching for Stabbing Suspect

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Santa Maria Police are searching for a suspect in an early morning stabbing on East Portland Street.

According to police, Sunday morning at around 1:44am Officers responded to the 100 Block of E. Portland after a report of a stabbing.

During their investigation, Officers found the following:

Michael Cortez Jimenez, 22 years of Santa Maria, was confronted in the 100 Blk of E Portland St by several unknown Hispanic male subjects. A fight ensued and Jimenez was stabbed with an unknown object. Jimenez was transported to Marian Medical Center and was treated by on duty medical staff. Jimenez is listed in stable condition.

This incident is currently under investigation, anyone with further information is urged to contact the Santa Maria Police Department.
