Stolen Property Suspects Arrested at Casino

Four Santa Maria residents were arrested last week at the Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez on various charges including possession of stolen property.

About 7:20 a.m. May 5, deputies summoned by undercover casino security personnel contacted two of the suspects, Leticia Bueno, 31, and Kody Lee Samuels, 24, in the casino parking garage.

Casino security officers allegedly found the suspects using a screwdriver to enter a vehicle and trying to sell electronics out of the trunk to people passing by, deputies said.

The remaining suspects, Amey Samuels, 41, and Jessica Lynn Ruiz, 37 were also contacted by casino security in the garage. Amey Samuels and Kody Lee Samuels are aunt and nephew, authorites said.

The arrests led to an investigation into a stolen vehicle from Santa Maria and the use of stolen credit cards to buy electronics, according to deputies.
