Teens Saved by Search & Rescue Team

Two teenagers who were stuck in the dark on a mountain ridge above the Alisal Guest Ranch have been rescued by members of the Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue team, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department said Thursday.

The teens, who have not been identified, were rescued with the help of a county fire helicopter after rescue workers started searching for them about 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Local Grad Gets in SB Film Festival

Santa Ynez High School graduate Daniel Lahr has been making movies since he was 9 years old, but when he turned 15 he really focused his attention on becoming a director.

Now his film “Fortune’s Favored” has been selected for the 27th annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival, which runs through Sunday, Feb. 5.
